Easy Healthy Meals to Lose Weight – Soya Chunks & Sweet Potato Tikkis
Soya chunks are packed with protein that helps reduce cravings and build muscle. Sweet potato and gram flour are excellent sources of complex carbs. This can be a regular for easy healthy meals to lose weight.
Soaked soya chunks (1 cup), Boiled Sweet potato (1 medium), Onions finely chopped (1 small), Green chilies chopped, Salt, Pepper, Garam Masala (1 tsp), Roasted Gram flour/Besan (2 tbsp.), Ghee (2 tbsp.)
Scramble the soaked soya chunks by grinding them in a mixer. In a bowl, add in soya chunks, mashed sweet potato, chopped onions, and green chillies and mix them. Put in all the species and bind it thoroughly.
Add 2 tbsp. roasted gram flour, i.e. besan. This will help in binding the dough. Keep the mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes. This will help in keeping its shape.
Now, in a non-stick pan heat 2 tbsp. ghee to shallow fry the tikkis.
Make small tikkis (patties) of the dough. Drop them in the hot ghee gently. Cook on medium/low flame for 6-7 minutes so that they cook from the inside. Raise the temperature to get a golden brown color. Serve hot!
Easy Healthy Meals to Lose Weight – Garlic Rubbed Chicken with Roasted Chickpeas

150g Chicken breast, ¼ cup yogurt, 2 tbsp. minced garlic, 1 tsp red chili powder and garam masala, 1 tbsp ghee.
½ cup boiled chickpeas, salt, pepper, 1 tsp red chili powder, juice of ½ a lemon.
Flatten the chicken breast lightly using a kitchen hammer or heavy plate, to ensure equal cooking. Cut slits on both sides of the chicken breast.
In a bowl, mix garlic, salt, pepper, spices with yogurt. Marinade the chicken breast with this mixture for at least 30 minutes.
In a moderately heated pan add ghee. Place the marinated chicken in the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes per side.
For the chickpeas, soak ¼ cup chickpeas in water overnight or 12 hours. Once inflated the chickpeas will double in size. Boil them in a pressure cooker until 3 whistles or on the flame until soft.
Strain the chickpeas. Once they’re cool add lemon juice and coat them nicely. Add in all the species.
Bake the chickpeas in a preheated oven for 15 minutes or until crispy. Remember to grease the baking tray with ghee or olive oil. Serve both with a yogurt dip!
