A lot of people are looking for simple healthy recipes for dinner. I know this because I used to be one. I am also one of those women who do not have the time or energy to cook a wholesome meal. But one of my friends has always cooked for me and she tells me that it is very simple to make a healthy and great meal. So I decided to give it a try and I was amazed by the results.
Try To Make Your Own Dinners
We love to eat out so I thought that maybe it would be nice to make our own dinners at home. Of course I did not think that it would be that easy. But after a few failed attempts, I started to feel that maybe I should just follow the plan that she made for me. She gave me a great dinner and I felt even better. I now save so much money at restaurants that I really appreciate having her as my partner in cooking for us.
We are both on a diet and so it was important to get something for dinner that is easy on the stomach. Since we love to eat out, I had to come up with a plan that would not only taste great but would also be healthy for us. So what I came up with were some simple healthy meals for dinner. Now I cannot tell you how easy they are to make.
Baked Potato With Salsa And Guacamole
The first one that I thought of was a baked potato with salsa and guacamole. All you have to do is take a medium sized potato and chop it up nice and fine. Then get some green chilies that you can buy in bulk and then use them to roast the potato. Once it is roasted, just add some water to bring it to a boil. Then just sprinkle some salt on it and place it in the oven for about 30 minutes.
The second dinner idea that I came up with was some steamed vegetables. I sauteed some carrots, celery, and potatoes in some olive oil and then coated it in some nutritional yeast, sea salt, and pepper. After that I added a cup of water to bring the mixture to a boil, then I threw in a couple of cups of chopped tomatoes and fresh pepper that I just brought from the store.
For the third dinner idea, I made a pot of chili that my hubby enjoyed. I took some peppers, onions, and a jalapeno and cooked it in my vegetable saute. Then added some corn, cilantro, cauliflower, and bell pepper to it. We ate the chili on the dining table and it was such a delicious and healthy meal that we will definitely make it again.
Simple Chocolate Cake
For dessert, what I thought would be a simple chocolate cake, ended up being one of the best cakes I have ever made. I made it using frozen bananas, yogurt, and cream cheese. Then I put a banana inside the chocolate cake and poured melted chocolate over it. It was so smooth and delicious and I will definitely make it a part of my regular dessert meals. Simple healthy recipes are really that simple.
